  • 1. About Backpacker’s Home refund and cancellation fees – The Fair Trade Commission (Dispute Resolution Criteria) active 2014.03.21
    • A. If you, the customer, is responsible for the cancellation

      Ex) Say the check-in date is January 11th – (the first date, if booked for consecutive dates)

      • · Reservation canceled 10 days before the check-in date -> Full deposit refund
             (In this example, January 1st)
      • · Reservation canceled 9, 8, or 7 days before the check-in date -> 90% of total cost refund
             (In this example, January 2nd, 3rd, or 4th)
      • · Reservation canceled 6 or 5 days before the check-in date -> 70% of total cost refund
             (In this example, January 5th or 6th)
      • · Reservation canceled 4 or 3 days before the check-in date -> 50% of total cost refund
             (In this example, January 7th or 8th)
      • · Reservation canceled 2 days or 1 day before – or on the day of –  the check-in date -> 20% of total cost refund
             (In this example, January 9th, 10th, or 11th)
    • B. If we are responsible for the cancellation
      • · Reservation canceled 10 days before the check-in date -> Full deposit refund
      • · Reservation canceled 9, 8, or 7 days before the check-in date -> Full deposit refund & 10% of total cost reimbursement
      • · Reservation canceled 6 or 5 days before the check-in date -> Full deposit refund & 30% of total cost reimbursement
      • · Reservation canceled 4 or 3 days before the check-in date -> Full deposit refund & 50% of total cost reimbursement
      • · Reservation canceled 2 days or 1 day before – or on the day of – the check-in date -> Provision of hospitality at an establishment with similar, or better, facilities

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

  • 2. Change the Date
    • A. Modifying the check-in date is permitted only once, whenever, given that we are able to act flexibly at the time. However, there may be times when the customer decides to modify the check-in date on a day less than 10 days prior to the check-in date, and we are unable to adjust our schedule accordingly. In such cases, the refund/cancellation policies (the customer being responsible for the cancellation) outlined above will be applied.

  • 3. About cancellations due to natural disasters and other unfortunate events
    • A. If a storm immobilizes your means of transportation (airplanes or boats) – thus resulting in the cancellation of your reservation – you will be refunded in full.
      • · If your flight is canceled, please send us your flight information, including details on the airline in question
      • · Your cancellation will only fall under the category of “cancellations due to natural disasters” if and only if your respective transporter officially announces that your flight/voyage has been cancelled
    • B. If you or your direct family members get involved in an accident, and you decide to cancel your reservation at our hostel, please follow these instructions if you want a full refund: Send us sufficient proof, such as hospitalization documents, through fax or other appropriate means of communication
